Polymer PE
Polymer PE
What It Is & Characteristics
Chemical resistant plastic that can come in low, medium, and high-density forms. Physical characteristics depend on density.
Polyethylene (PE) is a diverse polymer that can be manufactured to be a low molecular wax on one end of the spectrum to a highly crystalline ultra-high molecular weight (UHMWPE) polyethylene on the other. Several other forms are common as well including high-density polyethylene (HDPE), medium-density polyethylene (MDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Polyethylene has good impact properties, good chemical resistance, provides an acceptable moisture barrier and has excellent cold weather properties.
Typical Uses
PE is an incredibly versatile material that is used for items such as bread & cereal bags, shampoo bottles and milk jugs where its low temperature toughness is valued. Additionally, PE is useful in the pharmaceutical market, as it's used for containers, caps, and closures for different bottles. It's also used in consumer housewares and in the construction industry for thermoforming.
Sustainability. The Key To Future Value.
We have placed sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG) issues at the very center of our focus. Not simply to comply with regulations and standards, but to drive true change that transforms tomorrow. This, we believe, is how real value is created.
