Polymer ASA
Polymer ASA
What It Is & Characteristics
ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a thermoplastic polymer with a unique structure equipped with a range of specialized properties.
ASA is an amorphous thermoplastic, meaning it lacks a well-defined crystalline structure like many other polymers, giving ASA great impact strength and ease of processing. Its three components contribute to the material’s unique blend of qualities. Acrylonitrile (AN) provides strength and chemical resistance. Styrene (S) improves processability and balances rigidity and toughness. Acrylate Ester (AE) is the key component in ASA that enhances weather resistance by improving UV stability.
Typical Uses
Given ASA’s strength and resistance, it’s commonly used in industries that require materials able to withstand extended exposure to sunlight and harsh environments, such as automotive manufacturing and construction. Additionally, ASA is easily manipulated to meet aesthetic needs, making it ideal for miscellaneous outdoor projects and signage.
Sustainability. The Key To Future Value.
We have placed sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG) issues at the very center of our focus. Not simply to comply with regulations and standards, but to drive true change that transforms tomorrow. This, we believe, is how real value is created.
