Introducing NEW RoyalAero™ Product Line - R755
Introducing NEW RoyalAero™ Product Line - R755
We engineered the RoyalAero™ line to excel in aerospace applications. It includes a family of solutions formulated to meet FAR flammability test requirements.

Spartech's Royalite® line of flame retardant sheet has been a customer favorite for 65 years thanks to its unique ability to balance toughness, aesthetics, and weatherability to meet standards across various industries. One industry where Royalite® truly soars is aerospace—requiring stringent adherence to FAR, MIL-SPEC, FAA, and ISO quality certifications for aviation safety and performance.
The Royalite® product line explicitly manufactured for use in aerospace applications is RoyalAero™. It stands up to even the strictest flammability and smoke tests while maintaining aesthetic appeal and supporting sustainable practices. This family of sheet products is lightweight but offers high impact strength, high tensile strength and stiffness, and excellent formability and ductility. It's also available in 0.040 in. – 0.375 in. thickness in both standard and custom colors.
"Royalite® has been around for more than 65 years," said Todd Whitney, Director of Transportation at Spartech. "Fifteen years ago, it was one of the only FR-rated products you saw going into aerospace, mass transit, and other fields.
As the aerospace market continues to grow and more people are flying daily—we're re-evaluating how to improve our product. Our latest addition to the RoyalAero™ line is R755, the FAR 25.853 (d) Part IV (<55kw/m2) flame retardant plastic sheet meeting the OSU 65/65 and smoke requirements."
R755 is the cornerstone of Spartech's RoyalAero™ offerings and meets stringent FAA guidelines and requirements listed in FAR 25.853 (d) Part V and FAR 25.853 (d) Part IV for commercial aircraft interior applications. It is a meticulously engineered product offering low smoke and flame-retardant properties, with the benefit of being available in a gauge as thin as 0.028".
"Royalite® R755 rounds out the RoyalAero™ line. We developed it to meet the more stringent requirements dealing with smoke generation, heat release, and bigger thermoformed or pressure-formed parts for commercial airlines—mainly in business and first-class seating," said Andy Baumler, Market Development Manager for Aerospace. "Even though parts in economy seating are smaller and can pass at Paragraph A, we're now seeing some airlines say, 'Let's just use a FAR 25.853 (d) Part IV (<55kw/m2)-compliant sheet all the way through.'"
Because of the sustainability initiatives of both commercial aircraft manufacturers and the airline companies they serve, it's important to note that the RoyalAero™ product line offers products that are 100% manufactured using post-industrial recycled material. A proven trim buy-back program provides complete circular recycling.
This innovative thermoplastic sheet is made in the USA, ensuring supply chain security. R755 is available in custom colors, sheet sizes, gauges, surface finishes, and functionalities such as static control and antimicrobial properties.
In addition to the RoyalAero™ R755 flame retardant sheet, the RoyalAero™ line includes an entire family of engineered solutions formulated to meet FAR flammability test requirements.
